About the event
Join Contemporary Voices and Polly Virr for a stunning evening of choral music at St. John's Church, Ranmoor.
Founded in 2024 by Gavin Usher as part of Sheffield Arts Studio, Contemporary Voices brings a fresh choral twist to contemporary pop hits, celebrating the energy and emotion of today’s music through expressive and innovative performances.
Polly Virr is a UK-based freelance cellist known for her genre-bending, contemporary approach to the instrument. A highly sought-after performer and collaborator, she has worked with artists including Lewis Capaldi, Johnny Marr, Everything Everything and Cara Dillon, and regularly performs with ensembles such as The Untold Orchestra, Kaleidoscope Orchestra and Manchester Collective. Polly has appeared on BBC Radio 2, 3 and 6 Music, on television including Strictly Come Dancing, and has performed internationally across the UK, Europe and Canada.
